Student Ambassador Program
Does your dancer have an interest in Teaching? or do they enjoy helping others?
Our Student Ambassador program is a new program we implemented to instill leadership, responsibility, as well as build self-esteem and confidence in every child. This program was built from the necessity of needing extra hands in dance classes and performances, while also providing an opportunity to students that wish to do more at the studio.
We have divided our Student Ambassador Program into a tiered program, to ensure the growth, learning, and development of our team. The positions available are Student Volunteer, Classroom Assistant and Teaching Assistant.
*Student Volunteers* in our program help comfort upset students, support the Teacher by handling bathroom runs, handing out stickers, and assisting with classroom set-up and breakdown amongst other studio tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must be 10 or older
- Enrolled for the 2024-2025 season
- Albe to commit to their volunteer position as needed, and be on time
- Must maintain satisfactory grades in school and exhibit positive behavior at home and in dance
- Must be a positive person who can be critiqued and open to feedback in volunteering
- Available to attend the Ambassador Training/Refresher
The *Classroom Assistant* position is for someone who wants to be involved in the classroom, interested in learning the exercises, dance, and be an active dance participant in the class. Students enrolled in this program will have the opportunity to work alongside an experience instructor in the classroom and hone their skills as an aspiring instructor. Depending on experience, some students must first complete the Student Volunteer position before becoming a Classroom Assistant.
Qualifications:
- Must be 11 years of age or older
- Currently enrolled for the 2024-2025 season
- Consistent availability to help with assigned classes
- Have access to their own personal email for music sharing purposes and knowledge of how to use iTunes & YouTube
- Able to complete simple tasks with minimal supervision once given direction
- Must be friendly and respectful of co-assistants, students, and parents, and are able to work cooperatively with others
- Must be able to provide at least 2 weeks' notice of an absence unless an emergency or illness
- Enjoys children and working with them
- Must maintain satisfactory grades in school and exhibit positive behavior at home and in dance
- Must be a positive person who can be critiqued and open to feedback in assisting
- Available to attend the Ambassador Training/Refresher
The *Teaching Assistant* position is for a seasoned Classroom Assistant who is ready to lead a class or group on their own or with an instructor present. The Teaching Assistant has an opportunity to help with routine choreography, prepare and lead class exercises and be a stand in for instructors as needed. Teaching Assistants are required to know routines and class curriculum for the classes they work with.
Qualifications:
- Must be 13 years of age or older and meet all Classroom Assistant Qualifications
- Currently enrolled at Dancers Dreamzzz (or previously completed classes and received authorization from the Director)
- Have a minimum of 6 months - 1 year of Classroom Assistant experience
- Consistent availability to help with assigned classes
- Demonstrate proper dance technique and knowledge of terminology during enrolled class, an excellent attendance record free from tardiness, and reflect the values of the studio
- Able to learn exercises to take lead in class when necessary
- Able to memorize choreography and rehearse at home to demonstrate during class
- Must maintain satisfactory grades in school and exhibit positive behavior at home and in dance
- Must be a positive person who can be critiqued and open to feedback in teaching
- Available to attend the annual Ambassador Training/Refresher.
